Lavender Haven Bed and Breakfast is situated in Bedford and offers a peaceful haven for the stressed, tired and weary traveller in need of some pampering.
Nestling at the foot of the Bedford Mountain, this charming 1820 Settler village of Bedford lies on the fringes of the Karoo Heartland, roughly equidistant from Port Elizabeth, East London and Graff-Reinet in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa, the province where Nelson Mandela was born. Bedford is the ideal base, from where you can visit the frontier country, Amatola Mountain Escape Route, Njoli Route, Marino Route and the Karoo Heartlands.
The cottage at Lavender Haven was built around the time of the proclamation of the town of Bedford in 1857, and therefore is one of the oldest in this beautiful village.
